Thanks For Mini Christmases

It is a mini Christmas today for the Lord has sent us lots of gifts, Ninongs, Ninangs and legions of angels.

Mamu fell from the stairs, good thing my sister was there to catch her, still she hit her head which bled due to a cut. It had to be sutured. Also, Mamu has to undergo CT scan in the next 24 hours to check for any internal bleeding or unnecessary clot.

UST was closed and we have no doctor to read the results even if Mamu had the CT scan. We were truly being taken cared of by our Lord and Padre Pio. My sister's female doctor friend recommended Jose Reyes Hospital. She further offered her associate to assist in reading the results.

Another male doctor friend of my sister went to see Mamu at Perpetual Help (where she was admitted at the emergency room for first-aid and x-ray) and he performed the suture in the cut of her head. After the procedure, the doctor went with us to JR to help us locate the hospital plus we really needed a male helping hand to assist in carrying Mamu when necessary.

Thank God for the gifts. He has allowed Mamu to be alright, no broken bones, no pelvic injury, no head concerns after the CT scan.

Worth mentioning that the neighbors were of true help. Ching Ching run for help to them to get a tricycle and also to help carry Mamu. It is really fortunate that Ennie and Ching were there with Mamu. They got to the hospital without footwear, more dramatic than Cinderella.

We had a great dinner with Mamu and the doctor, superb Chinese food. It was a tasty meal since it was shared with special people and with thanksgiving.

We continue to pray to God and also implore the intercession of Padre Pio and Mama Mary for the immediate recovery of Mamu. Praise God!

My Letter to You

Dear Lord, Abba Father,

Blessings to you! Blessed be your holy name, the name above all names. All glory and honor are yours. Praise and thanksgiving I offer to you, for there is none like you.

You are my refuge, my father, my God, my protector, my provider, my shield, my comfort, my joy, my companion, my friend, my rock, my peace.

Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for forgiving me my sins and healing me of my diseases. Thank you for providing me with all my needs according to your riches in Christ Jesus. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for being my strength. Thank you for giving me wisdom.

Thank you for blessing me with a community, for giving me service in the Parish, for the opportunity to attend mass, receive You in holy communion, to listen to your words in the readings and to hear your messages from the the homily of the priest. Faith does come from hearing your words.

Am I not so blessed? You have given me the time, the courage and the grace to pray for others, unworthy as I am, to lift up their petitions to you, our God.

Am I not so fortunate to feel your presence every moment, seeing creation speaking to me words of Your love?

Am I not to jump for joy, knowing that I am indeed a child of the Almighty God, the creator of heaven and of earth?

What is man that God loves us so much? Am I not a sinner? Yes, but my God is bigger than any of my sin, bigger than my problems. Forgive me Lord when I displease you. Pardon me my sins. I am sorry for my sins. I now forgive those who sin against me for I myself is a sinner.

Speak Lord, your servant is listening. Is there something you want me to do? Please bless me and guide me. Give me ears to hear and eyes to see. I ask for wisdom for You give it generously to those who ask it of You.

From,
Me, your child

Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Pray, pray to the Lord with me, because the whole world needs prayer. Padre Pio

Padre Pio recited this novena prayer every day for all those who asked his prayer:

O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you."
Behold I knock, I seek and I ask for the grace of (request).
Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be to the Father...
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you."
Behold, in your name, I ask the Father for the grace of (request).
Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be To the Father...
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away."
Encouraged by your infallible words, I now ask for the grace of (request)
Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be to the Father...
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours.
Hail, Holy Queen...
St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

"Pray, hope and don't worry." Padre Pio

Let Nothing Disturb You

Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing make you afraid.
All things are passing.
God alone never changes.
Patience gains all things.
If you have God you will want for nothing.
God alone suffices.
~The bookmark of Teresa of Avila

Saint Teresa of Ávila, also called Saint Teresa of Jesus, baptized as Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada, (March 28, 1515 – October 4, 1582) was a prominent Spanish mystic, Roman Catholic saint, Carmelite nun, and writer of the Counter Reformation, and theologian of contemplative life through mental prayer. She was a reformer of the Carmelite Order and is considered to be, along with John of the Cross, a founder of the Discalced Carmelites.

In 1622, forty years after her death, she was canonized by Pope Gregory XV, and in 1970 named a Doctor of the Church by Pope Paul VI. Her books, which include her autobiography, The Life of Teresa of Jesus, and her seminal work, El Castillo Interior (The Interior Castle), are an integral part of the Spanish Renaissance literature as well as Christian mysticism and Christian meditation practices as she entails in her other important work Camino de Perfección (The Way of Perfection).

Let nothing disturb thee,
Nothing affright thee;
All things are passing;
God never changeth;
Patient endurance
Attaineth to all things;
Who God possesseth
In nothing is wanting
Alone God sufficeth.
-Liturgy of the Hours

In Spanish, it is a song called "Nada te turbe" after the first line.

Saint Teresa, who reported visions of Jesus and Mary, was a strong believer in the power of holy water and wrote that she used it with success to repel evil and temptations.
She wrote: I know by frequent experience that there is nothing which puts the devils to flight like holy water.

What do you focus on?

Whatever you focus on, think about, read about, and talk about intensely, you’re going to attract more of into your life.
Jack Canfield

Feed your dreams.

I read that we should not feed our fears unless you want them to grow and overwhelm you and paralyze you.

The Chaplet of the Five Holy Wounds of Jesus

Marie Martha Chambon (1841 – March 21, 1907) was a lay Roman Catholic nun known for introducing the Rosary of the Holy Wounds. She was a member of the Monastery of the Visitation Order who lived in Chambéry, France. She is in the process of canonization by the Roman Catholic Church. She died on March 21, 1907, and the cause for her beatification was introduced in 1937.

She began to report visions of Jesus in 1866, telling her to contemplate the Holy Wounds, although it is said that she had received her first vision when only five years old. These were visions of Jesus Christ appearing to her and teaching her specific prayers and meditations on His wounds. She reported that she was told to pray to and invoke the Holy Wounds unceasingly.

Her mother superior kept a chronicle of her life which was published in 1923 and sold widely. The next year the Vatican granted an indulgence to those who said the following prayer, based on her reported visions: "Eternal Father I offer the wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ, to heal those of our souls".

She reported that Jesus asked her to unite her sufferings with His in the Rosary of the Holy Wounds as an Act of Reparation for the sins of the world. She reported that Jesus told her that "when you offer My Holy Wounds for sinners, you must not forget to do so for the souls in Purgatory, as there are but few who think of their relief... The Holy Wounds are the treasure of treasures for the souls in Purgatory."

Holy Wounds Devotion

According to Ann Ball, Chambon was told to revive the Holy Wounds devotion.[4] Part of this devotion can be a Chaplet of Mercy of the Holy Wounds of Jesus, which was based on Chambon's private revelations. This chaplet was approved for the Institute of Visitation in 1912, and was extended to all the faithful at large by the Sacred Penitentiary in 1924. According to Liz Kelly, the Rosary of the Holy Wounds was revealed to Chambon and is prayed on a standard five decade rosary.

The Chaplet of the Five Wounds is a Passionist chaplet devoted to the Holy . The chaplet is due to Father Paul Aloysius, the sixth superior general of the Passionists. The devotion also honors the mystery of the risen Christ which has the marks of the Five Wounds. Pope Leo XII approved the chaplet in 1823.

This chaplet has 25 beads, grouped into five sets. There are five mysteries for this chaplet, each with an associated scriptural meditation.

The five mysteries are:
* Jesus is conceived by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
* The Spirit of the Lord rests on Jesus
* Jesus is led by the Holy Spirit into the desert

* The Holy Spirit in the Church

* The Holy Spirit in the souls of the faithful

The chaplet consists of three prayers that are said on specific portions of the rosary beads as follows:

* The following prayers are said on the crucifix and first three beads: O JESUS, Divine Redeemer, be merciful to us and to the whole world. Amen. Strong God, Holy God, Immortal God, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen Grace and Mercy, O my Jesus, during present dangers; cover us with Your Precious Blood. Amen. ETERNAL Father, grant us mercy through the Blood of Jesus Christ, Your only Son; grant us mercy we beseech You. Amen, Amen, Amen.

* The following prayer is said on the large beads of the rosary chain:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Wounds of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, to heal the wounds of our souls.

* The following prayer is said on the small beads of the rosary chain:
My Jesus, pardon and mercy, through the merits of Your Holy Wounds.

No Worries

HAKUNA MATATA

Hakuna matata is a Swahili phrase that is literally translated as "There are no worries". It is sometimes translated as "no worries", although is more commonly used similarly to the American English phrase "no problem".

In the mid-1980s, the saying appeared in the Swedish comic book Bamse by Rune Andréasson. Bamse the bear's baby daughter Brumma's first words are "Hakuna matata," which no one understands except the tortoise Skalman. He later made it his and Brumma's secret motto, and the phrase has reappeared several times in the cartoon, Skalman gave readers several clues as to what language the phrase came from but never said directly that it was Swahili.

In 1994 the Walt Disney Animation Studios animated movie The Lion King brought the phrase international recognition, featuring it prominently in the plot and devoting a song to it. A meerkat and a warthog, named Timon and Pumbaa respectively, teach the main character, a lion cub named Simba, that he should forget his troubled past and live in the present.

Words of Spirit and Life

Last night, as I prayed, I received the following message:
"Don't be anxious. Ask for My mercy."

Today, during the early mass, the priest was sharing how merciful Jesus is as the Good Samaritan. And the same words came out from him, as he was explaining the gospel about the sisters, Mary and Martha, "Do not be anxious".

I've also been picking up thoughts that "the enemy of the BEST is the GOOD.

I'm thinking, what am I doing that is good but actually I am missing out on the best? I keep on praying that God may continue to enlighten me on this matter.

Martha, being busy doing the household chores, is doing the good, but Mary made the best choice, listening to Jesus' words.

Thanks be to God for His words of spirit and life for me.
